Yesterday Swedish company Loopia confirmed the data breach which has happened on August 22 and the company customers had been informed 3 days later on August 25.

During the hacking attack customers, data have been leaked.

The company representative said the delay was due to investigation and also to make sure that systems have been correctly protected.

Lupia reported: “IT security is essential to Loopia and something we work intensively with every day. On Tuesday, 22 August, the criminal offence had been taken against Loopia. With the cyber attack, the hackers have had access to parts of the customer database, including personal and contact information and encrypted (hashed) passwords to Loopia Kundzon.
The attack has not affected your services such as email, web pages, databases or your Loopia email password. We also want to emphasise that payment card information is not saved in Loopia’s environment and it has not been affected by this attack.
According to the Loopia’s policy, the incident has been reported to the police.
We take this incident seriously, and our customer security is essential, and we do everything to limit any damage caused by the attack.

Loopia’s Customer Zone stored passwords  are encrypted (hashed), as an additional security measure we enforced password change to all customer accounts, and necessary information has been sent to all customers via e-mail.”
